Frequently asked questions

How do I move and attack?

Tap a unit to see where it can go (blue tiles). Tap a blue tile to preview the move, tap it again to confirm. Then choose Attack, Capture or Wait from the menu. Attackable enemies are marked; the preview card shows what both sides will lose before you commit.

How do I look at a unit or tile without moving?

Press and hold a tile. The card shows the terrain's defence stars and the unit's health, movement, range, fuel and ammunition.

Where is the objective?

Tap the commander card in the top-left corner. The briefing lists the win and lose conditions, the bonus objectives, the planet's effects on your units and your commander's protocols.

How do I save, and what happens if I close the app?

The game autosaves at the start of every turn, after every action and the moment the app goes to the background, so you can close it at any time. To keep a particular moment, open the menu (☰) and choose Save game; there are three slots. Load game on the title screen or in the menu restores any of them.

How do I restart a mission or give up?

Open the menu (☰) during a battle: Restart mission starts over, Surrender ends the battle as a defeat. Both ask for a second tap.

Why can a unit not enter a tile?

Each unit has a drive type. Infantry crosses almost anything slowly, hover and grav vehicles need open ground or roads, crawlers are slow off-road, and aircraft ignore terrain but burn fuel every turn. Water and chasms need a bridge; lava and energy fields block everything. Some planetary conditions seal terrain for certain unit types; the briefing's Planet tab says which.

My aircraft crashed. Why?

Aircraft burn fuel at the start of every turn and crash when it runs out. Land them on a Launch Facility or a Landing Pad you own to refuel and repair.

How do commander protocols charge?

The bar on the commander card fills from damage you deal and take, from captures and from objectives. The ticks mark the cost of the tactical and the overdrive protocol; when the bar reaches a tick, the button appears. A protocol lasts for the current turn.

Is there anything to buy?

No. Space Command has no ads, no in-app purchases and no account. It works offline.

Which devices are supported?

iPhone with iOS 14 or newer, in landscape. The interface scales to the screen and lays itself out around the notch or Dynamic Island.
